Sunday July 22nd

Sunday August 22The photo beside doesn’t really show off the grass stains, dirty hands and sweaty body the way I had hoped. I wish I’d had my camera an hour earlier when I was crawling through the park. I’ve been very shy to crawl outdoors (in public) but somehow, today, I lost my inhibitions. My need was so intense to get some crawling in — and that grass was looking mighty comfy! (I had left my kneepads at The Theatre Centre so I wasn’t looking forward to crawling indoors.)

I feel good about my work out today. I ran 10 laps x 400 metres = 4000 metres = 4 k. Then I crawled up and down this huge hill. Then I ran another 10 laps = 4 k and then crawled up the big hill. Things I noticed when I crawled — it’s hard on my inner right palm — this gets better if I alternate between making fists and not. Also bending the wrist back between “steps” helps too. Crawling seems to loosen & align my spine. The second round of running I felt much more relaxed and my stride had improved. Hmmmm - could crawling be good for me?
