Thank You Everyone

Mish leading the crawlToday I’m a little sore, have a couple blisters and stuff but really, I’m in pretty good shape. And that’s because my team was INCREDIBLE and took amazing care of me. Thank you to :

My bridesmaids: Aviva Chernick, Christina Jol, Laura Nanni and Sabrina Pringle for nursing me, holding my dress, protecting me from the sun, feeding me, making sure I drank enough water and making this crawl as easy as possible.

My AD - Kathleen Smith for keeping us on time in a gentle & kind way. And for being on top of everything. For being such an incredible lady.

Videographers: Mishann Lau and Phillip McGregor & documentary videographer Shannon Cochrane for not only walking the eight hour journey but also carrying camera equipment the whole way. Hardcore!

Christine Buckell - for being the runner — setting up all the stations with the Station Captains, carting first aid kits, drinks & snacks, videotapes & batteries back and forth between the entourage and the car. AND THEN also lending her beautiful voice to the trio at St. Matthias.

Bruce Hunter - for being the driver and helping set up & strike stations and lending a helping hand in every way.

Jeremey Mimnagh for taking photos of the entire route. That was way beyond the call of duty!

To Becky Johnson for taking over 400 pictures & posting them to flickr for all to enjoy. And also for being Station Captain #7 — and coordinating the most beautiful bike sculpture ever.

To Katie Kehoe for her incredible tour-de-force as Station Captain #6 - The Gladstone Art Bar and blogging all the day’s events as they unfolded. She got some great clips!

To Craig Mcnaughton for his incredible web design. I had this crazy idea of how I wanted people to be able to participate online the day of — and he made it all happen. Thank you Craig for making my website part of the art project.

To every Station Captain - THANK YOU:

#8 Elle-Ray Snow - the earth goddess herself. Your powerful healing energy was exactly what I needed to get me to my feet again. Love.

#5 Kyle Tingley - who was my original Maid of Honour and witness on the wedding certificate. Even though he was sick, he showed up at 9am to lend us his vehicle for the day and move stuff from The Theatre Centre to the Gladstone. And then he went & got the money order for the Minister of Finance (Wedding Registrar office) when I ran out of time.

#4 Shelley Snow - who helped shop for all the food for 3 picnics, cut up all the fruit & veggies and helped me pack them away in tupperware.  Shelley had originally baked many deserts for our Desert & Champagne wedding reception.

Armen Kazazian (unofficial co-Captain of Station #4) who saved the day by shopping with Shelly & I and then running home to make me 24 wraps (chicken & veggie) + 2 huge gourmet pasta salads and returning 1.5 hours later with everything done! And then showed up in time to help strike the whole day.

Natasha Priest & Sean MacMahon for providing the “secret location” for our dinner break. And for a much needed hosing down of the whole entourage. And also for coming through with some duct tape for my left running shoe!

#3 Clinton Walker & Heather Lash & Christine Buckell - who sang as part of the St. Matthias trio. Clinton actually read at our wedding ceremony. You sounded beautiful!

#2 Cynthia Grant, a very influential professor of mine from York, who has always been an inspiration and a support. And she was the one who introduced me to an avant-garde company called DNA.

Thank you Hillar (DNA) for all your support over the years, and especially for the Residency that allowed me to do this project.

And also thank you to Franco Boni & The Theatre Centre for supporting this piece and being patient with my crazy scheduling.

Thank you Penny Rose and The Gladstone. Penny, your support has been outstanding. Here’s to 35!

Thank you to everyone who showed up and walked with me a while. Or a lot. Thank you Margeaux for the peanut butter & jelly sandwhich! Thank you Ron for homemade organic smoothie! Thank you Sean for running off and buying us emergency socks & shoelaces! Micheal Tong for lending us his coolers! Kyle & Gavin for lending us their vehicle!

Thank you Bobby for all your support, the hat, the photos, the practise socks, and the Epsom Salt baths. xoxo

Thank you Ulysses and Jesse for taking pictures - because I was a little worried that wasn’t going to have enough photo coverage… little did I know! Thank you to Carl, Peter and all the media support. It was overwhelming.

And last but not least - Steve Marsh. For joining me in this piece. For creating the sound design. For being part of the Stations. For being my Technical Director and overall supporter.

AND — ONE LAST THING — before I go take a bath — Thank you to everyone who showed up along the route. It was so incredible, so energizing to feel that support. When we turned off of Springhurst and started crossing the highway, we saw everyone waiting on the grassy knoll at the Jameson Pedestrian Bridge and it was intense. I think everyone in the entourage started crying a little bit, it was so beautiful. And then when I got to the hill .. the bike sculptures were AMAZING. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you.
